Our Story
Arlington Animal Clinic opened in January 2004 as a satellite veterinary clinic. Our clinic’s goal was to fulfill the needs of a rural community that was poised to grow in the next 10 years. The facility started with two employees, three rooms, 500 square feet, and offered limited services. Our veterinarian at this new facility was Dr. Monica Schoknecht, and still is!
After establishing a solid client base, our limited space and services needed an upgrade to accommodate our growing patient base. By the spring of 2004, the clinic was expanded to 1,000 square feet. This expansion allowed the clinic to offer additional services including grooming and surgery.

Even with the expansions, the growth of the practice and the influx of clients, we still try to maintain our small town, family-oriented atmosphere.
In September 2004, the sole veterinarian Dr. Monica Schoknecht was offered a chance to buy Arlington Animal Clinic. Dr. Schoknecht jumped at the chance to own the facility she helped start and expand. After the purchase, Dr. Schoknecht restructured the clinic with the theme, “Come Join Our Family.” Her goal was to create a clinic that offered a family based atmosphere with involvement within the local community. She balanced this goal with practicing high quality medicine to ensure the well being of her four-legged patients.
After being open for only two years, the town of Arlington was growing substantially with around 100 new families a month. To accommodate the new clients, we needed to do a second upgrade to our facility. In September 2006 Arlington Animal Clinic completed its most recent expansion. This expansion added an extra 1,000 square feet of space to bring the total square footage to 2,500.
Our clinic was able to have an enlarged reception/waiting area, two exam rooms (one for dogs and one for cats), a lab area, radiology room, expanded grooming room, break room, prescription food area, surgery suite, offices for the Doctor and Office manager, and a treatment/recovery area.
In January 2015, we purchased land in Arlington in preparation of building a brand-new completely updated facility, allowing us to provide even better care with more services to offer.
